I know this isn't about scripting really, but it is the closest forum to the subject.
I am currently writing a completely new recipe driven craft system to replace current OSI clone, which i dont really like. Mostly because i dont like the idea of new crafts magically appearing in the crafters head.
But i want to have a database of all standard recipes ( With standard i mean recipes that have not been modifyied in any way. I plan to add research to recipes to improve them ), and that database i want to save in XML. I have several C# books ( I am a C++ programmer, and just started with C# ), which either dont take up XML, or takes it up with all the extra MS mumbo jumbo.
All i want to learn for starters is how to save data out to XML and read it in again. So a good beginner tutorial would be nice.
I could learn by studying XmlSpawners Load and Save methods, but that would take longer, since i have to scan through code im not familiar with, meaning i have to learn the structure of all the .cs files so i know where to look and find the relevant parts.
I would just google for "xml tutorial". There are many of them out there.
Dooh, why didn't i think of that *blush*. That was almost embarasing. Thanks for the pointer Arte
